For almost fourteen years and during thousands of DJ-sets Brent Burns has turned energy into ecstasy, mixing a congenial and cohesive Dance-combination for the soundtrack to the perfect party – drawing on eclectic ingredients from Funky to Tech and Electro House. Despite all that, Brent Burns feels he is more craftsman than alchemist, never resting on his laurels, and always re-inventing himself. Most importantly: He does not spin records, he more than anything creates his sound. Restless, untiring, worldwide. Preferably all night long, at least for four to five hours, more trip than trial – Brent has played at some of the most well known events hosted by Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound and Slinky played with djs such as Timo Maas, Mario Piccotto, Mario Pui, Tall Paul, ATB, Mark Hughes, Dennis Ferrier, Faithless, Lady B but to name a few. Recently playing in Malaysia at the peak of the excitement, floor filled and audience screaming, Brent Burns will just raise his hands and smiled. The look ahead and both ears to the ground have achieved a lot for this dj producer from Cape Town South Africa. From the local clubs and big events in the nineties to popular residencies in Sky Garden, Ocean Beach Club, Double Six, Kudeta, Dejavue (Bali), Redzone Events (Malaysia) Maya and Intouch (Thailand) 2006-2010. From high-profile original productions, 12 club cds , chillout cds an invite to The Miami Winter Music conference where he signed a record deal with Lowered Recordings UK in 2003. This quality is evident at sunrise when Brent Burns is yet again the “last man standing” after six hours behind the decks, but even more so when he gets back from djing and locks himself in his studio to record a new mix. That way the electricity of the night transforms once again into the energy of the DJ. And this in turn benefits all of his productions. Numerous dj mixes and albums have made Brent Burns a household name in the dance-world. Brent has recently returned to Cape Town South Africa to work on some new material, which will be released shortly on digital download sites. He also has a Friday Night 6-8pm slot on Cape Towns no.1 dance radio station Mutha FM....
